A little over a year ago, I came in to work rather early (hosting Morning Edition at KVCR, getting up at 3:45am), and saw a beautiful sunrise...while a crescent moon hung on from the night before. This is what inspired the forecast drawing for that day.
I invited some friends to download or print the original, color it by hand or digitally manipulate it somehow, then send it back to me. I announced it as a contest, and initially said that there was no prize, really - just me sticking your artwork on my site.
Mitch, a friend from the Navy AND the first one to send in an "entry", said that the prize was, well...coloring - taking some time, and making some art. I appreciate that attitude - and his submission. Here are all the submissions received to date:
From Mitch, age 47 - Indio, California. Note how he altered my initials in the lower right :-)
From Patsy, age 48 - Lexington, Kentucky
"Lola Sunshine" - from Tracy, age 40 - Boulder, Colorado
From Ross, age 43 - Redlands, California. Note how he erased the sun - making it more appropriate to when I was going in to work.
From Kerri, age 33 - San FernandoValley, California
From Carey, age 32 - Fort Collins, Colorado - last we heard
Now YOU'RE invited to be the next entry. Take some time...and make some art.Download or print the original, color it by hand or digitally manipulate it somehow, then send it back to me. Here it is again. From Roger, age 27 - San Bernardino, California

Also from Yaseen, with a bit of animation thrown in when he sent it to me.
TOO cool!
From Christine, age 36 (or so) - Redlands, California
